Since its inception in 1966, Client has grown from strength to strength and is now a leading exporter of Generic & Branded Pharmaceuticals catering to more than 150 customers in 50 countries across the globe.


With a 24x7 state of the art WHO – GMP certified manufacturing facility at Tarapur, it was imperative to maintain very high lighting standards.

As part of their FY 18-19 plans to reduce electricity consumption, LED lighting was the need of the hour.


The team from Shine conducted an extensive survey and energy audit at the Tarapur unit.

Based on the inputs from the Maintenance team, Shine was able to come up with a cost effective solution by recommending a mix of retrofit and new fixtures.

The retrofit fixtures were specially developed to match the lighting needs and lux intensity recommended by the Maintenance team.


For the packing room and production room, the Shine SL2207 22W Panel was approved by the user. In a bid to increase the luminescence of the storage room, the LT1010 28W Industrial Batten by Shine were used.

For outdoor lighting, the HS_60W_SMD powered by Osram LED chip in a strong aluminium die cast housing gave superior performance compared to conventional lighting. This also provided sufficient lighting for the CCTV cameras.


By taking into account the hours of usage and power consumption, Shine was able to come up with a pocket friendly solution with a breakeven period of less than 6 months! client have also taken a step in the right direction by reducing their carbon footprint.

Besides, the improved lighting condition at shop floor is bound to increase the worker productivity which in turn translates to reduced cost of operation.
